3 day Excursion Itinerary : From Marrakech to Merzouga Desert
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Benhaddou – Dades Valley
on the first day Start your journey from Marrakech, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains descover berber vellages. Stop at Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historic kasbahs and cinematic fame, before continuing to Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah and atlas studio where many movies filmed. after that having a delicious lunch meal then countinue your tour, Pass through the Valley of Roses where you can pick some flowers then reach the Dades Valley by evening, where you’ll spend the night in a charming guesthouse overlooking the valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, begin your second day by drive through the picturesque Dades Valley and continue to the Todra Gorges, famous for their towering canyon walls. Pass through desert towns and lush oases before arriving in Merzouga. Here, embark on a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, watch a magical desert sunset, and enjoy a traditional Berber dinner under a vaste sky and stars at a desert camp, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Draa valley – Marrakech
Begin your day with a stunning sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, followed by a hearty breakfast at your desert camp or accommodation. Depart early and drive through Rissani, a historic trading hub, where you can explore its lively souk. Continue westward to the picturesque Draa Valley, renowned for its lush palm groves, traditional kasbahs, and charming Berber villages. Pause in Agdz to take in panoramic views of the valley and enjoy some refreshments. Proceed to Ouarzazate, where you can have lunch and visit the famous Taourirt Kasbah. Afterward, ascend the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, winding through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, stop for photos and perhaps tea at a local café. Arrive in vibrant Marrakech by evening, completing your journey from the desert to the city.
