7-Day Northern Morocco Adventure: Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes & Asilah

Take a day trip to Tetouan for its UNESCO-listed medina and Spanish-Moorish architecture, then hike to Akchour’s waterfalls and God’s Bridge. Travel south to Fes, stopping by the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes. Spend a day exploring Fes’s historical medina, Al Quaraouiyine University, and lively souks. Head back north to Asilah’s serene beaches, mural-painted medina, and Paradise Beach. Wrap up your journey in Tanger, where you can take a coastal boat ride, shop for souvenirs, and savor Moroccan mint tea.

7 day Excursion Itinerary : From Tanger to Asilah

Day 1: Tanger

 

Start your adventure in Tanger ( Bride of the north), where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Spend the day exploring the city’s unique mix of Spanish, French, and Moroccan cultures. Visit the Kasbah Museum, the American Legation, and stroll through the medina’s winding alleyways. End the day with a scenic walk along the Corniche to watch the sunset over the water. Spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel.

Day 2: Tanger to Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we will drive through Chefchaouen, the famous blue city nestled in the Rif Mountains . Spend the day exploring its beautiful medina with vibrant blue streets, quaint shops, and laid-back cafes. Visit Plaza Uta el-Hammam and the Kasbah Museum for a deeper look into local culture. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal and rest in a cozy riad.

 

Day 3: Chefchaouen to Tetouan and Akchour

After a leisurely morning in Chefchaouen, take a day trip to the nearby town of Tetouan. Known for its Spanish-Moorish architecture, wich  is a UNESCO World Heritage site with a rich cultural scene. Stroll through the medina, visit the Archaeological Museum, and explore the traditional souks. Later in the afternoon, head to Akchour for a nature escape. Take a short hike to see the Akchour waterfalls and the famous God’s Bridge. Return to Chefchaouen for the night.

 

Day 4: Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis and Meknes

Leave Chefchaouen in the morning after breakfast and head south towards Fes, stopping at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis along the way. Walk among the ruins and marvel at the mosaics that remain intact from the Roman era. Next, stop in Meknes, an imperial city known for its grand gates, bustling souks, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Arrive in Fes by late afternoon and settle into your accommodation for the night.

 

Day 5: Fes

Spend a full day exploring Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. Wander the UNESCO-listed medina, Fes el-Bali, and see the famous tanneries, Al Quaraouiyine University, and Al-Attarine Madrasa. Visit the souks and try local foods, like pastilla or harira, before resting for the night in a riad.

 

Day 6: Fes to Asilah

After breakfast, start your journey back north towards the coastal town of Asilah. Known for its annual mural-painting festival, Asilah is a picturesque seaside town with whitewashed walls and vibrant street art. Spend the afternoon wandering its quiet medina, enjoying the relaxed coastal vibe, and visiting the  Paradise Beach nearby. In the evening, sample fresh seafood at a local restaurant befor the overnight in a riad or hotel.

 

Day 7: Asilah to Tanger

On your final day, make your way back to Tangier  for a leisurely wrap-up of the trip. through the beach for a  boat ride along the coastline. after that You could  shop for souvenirs, and  relax with a  Moroccan mint tea before heading to your accumidation. and by that the ending of your tour in the north of Morocco, hope you enjoy your journey with  funny  moments and memories.
