7 day Excursion Itinerary : From Tanger to Marrakech

Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen

 

Begin your Moroccan adventure in Tangier. After breakfast, drive towards Chefchaouen, a scenic town nestled in the Rif Mountains and known for Its bluepainted buildings. Once there, explore the enchanting medina, stroll through its narrow, winding streets, and visit landmarks like Plaza Uta el-Hammam and the Kasbah. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal at a local restaurant and relax in a cozy riad.

Day 2: Chefchaouen to Fes

 

After a leisurely breakfast, depart from Chefchaouen and head to Fes. On the way, make a stop at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing impressive ruins and mosaics. Next, visit the nearby town of Meknes, another imperial city with grand gates and palaces. Arrive in Fes by the late afternoon, where you can start exploring the medina or relax in a traditional riad.

Day 3: Exploring Fes

Spend the day exploring Fes, one of Morocco's oldest and most culturally rich cities. Begin your tour in the medina, Fes el-Bali, a bustling maze of narrow streets. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine University, the world’s oldest existing university, and the Al-Attarine Madrasa, famous for its intricate tilework. Stop by the tanneries for a colorful view of traditional leather-making and enjoy the vibrant souks. In the evening, savor local cuisine and rest in your riad.​

Day 4: Fes to Rabat

After breakfast, set off from Fes towards Morocco's capital, Rabat. Upon arrival, start your exploration with key sights like the Kasbah of the Udayas, offering panoramic ocean views, and the Hassan Tower, an incomplete minaret of a former grand mosque. Don’t miss the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a beautifully decorated resting place for Morocco's past kings. In the evening, take a stroll along the Bouregreg River or relax on one of the beaches before settling into your accommodation.

 

Day 5: Rabat to Casablanca

Leave Rabat and head south to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic hub. Start your day by visiting the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world with stunning oceanfront views. Walk along the Corniche to enjoy the coastal scenery, and explore the city’s art deco architecture. For lunch, try a seafood restaurant by the coast, then visit the Morocco Mall or the bustling Habous Quarter for some shopping. Spend the evening in a stylish Casablanca hotel.

 

Day 6: Casablanca to Marrakech

After breakfast, depart for Marrakech, a vibrant city blending old-world charm and modern energy. Arrive by the afternoon, just in time to explore Jemaa elFnaa, the lively central square filled with musicians, acrobats, and food vendors. Wander through the souks for spices, ceramics, and textiles, or visit the Koutoubia Mosque, a city landmark with a striking minaret. Settle into your riad and relax with a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 7: Discovering Marrakech

On your final day, dive Into Marrakech’s historic sites and gardens. Visit the Bahia Palace with its beautiful gardens and intricate designs, and the Saadian Tombs, known for their impressive craftsmanship. Then head to the Majorelle Garden, an artistically landscaped oasis.
